The Pigeon

Inspired by my grandfather, who was a pigeon keeper.
In Belgium, pigeon keeping was very popular for the generation of my grandfather. Some kept pigeons for sport, other kept pigeons for fancy and pigeon shows. There are many breeds of all sizes and colors. There is a wide range of colors between all pigeon species, some pigeons are even painted for a special occasions. People painted a desired color on a bird! The concept to put costum colors on a pigeon was the start. Instead of using a real pigeon, i designed a simpliflied, esthetical, minimalistic side profile of a pigeon. The object can stand on his own. It can also be used as a usefull bookend.
